Features

Anti-spam
Messages sent by spammers contain unwanted information, causing frustration and wasting valuable time. Mail essentials includes an advanced anti-spam module that picks up on typical spam practices, such as incorrect Reply To addresses, From headers with nonexistent domains, etc. You can also configure lists of keywords and phrases that identify most spam mails. Company-wide disclaimer/footer text
Because companies are effectively responsible for the content of their employees' email messages, it is wise to add a disclaimer to each outgoing email. This disclaimer/footer text can also be used to add a standard corporate message to each email, such as an address or company slogan. Although most employees have their own personal signature, the disclaimer/footer text ensures that the corporate message is always communicated. Both text and HTML format disclaimers are supported. User-based disclaimers and merge fields will be supported in a service pack to be released in June 2002. View screenshot

Mail archiving to a database (to be available soon)
With GFI Mail essentials, you can archive all in- and outbound Internet mail. This allows you to keep a back-up of all email communications and easily search for a required message, such as a particular customer's emails. This also enables you to check the content of messages and quality of responses.

Internet mail reporting
GFI Mail essentials includes a reporting module that allows you to create reports on Internet mail use, including: daily statistics report, detailed log of sent mail including confirmation of remote mail server, reports per user or by date range. These reports can be used for audit purposes. View screenshot

Personalized server-based auto replies with tracking number
Auto replies can be more than just an 'out of office' reply. With server-based, personalized replies, you can let your customers know that their email has been received and who will handle their request. GFI Mail essentials assigns a unique tracking number to each reply to give your customers and employees an easy point of reference. Because GFI Mail essentials can also include attachments in the auto replies, you can use it as an information-on-demand service, returning documents like price lists and brochures automatically on request. POP3 downloader
Some mail servers, such as Microsoft Exchange Server, are unable to download mail from POP3 mailboxes. GFI Mail essentials includes a utility that can download mail from POP3 mailboxes. It supports both single and multiple recipient POP3 accounts: In single recipient mode, it maps a POP3 mailbox to an Exchange mailbox. In multiple recipient mode, it analyses the email header and distributes the mail to the correct Exchange mailbox. View screenshot
